Further Information

Recorded: 26 June 2008

Speaker: Emma Woolliams, NPL

Related: Optical Radiation & Photonics

The light bulb is dead, long live LEDs, compact fluorescents, halogens, gas plasmas and ... As lighting changes, NPL is responding - our new service revolves around a goniospectroradiometer that measures the spectral radiant intensity at any angle around the lamp.

Our 'whole systems' philosophy allows us to measure optical, electrical and thermal properties simultaneously, providing flexible services to a growing industry dominated by start-up companies. This talk will discuss the facilities, the scientific research and the future of photometry at NPL.
