NPL is often asked this question by members of the public who have purchased antique sextants that are supplied with the original NPL certificate. NPL has not offered a service for the calibration of sextants for many years. As far as NPL is aware no commercial organisation in the UK offers a service for the calibration of sextants. New sextants will come with a manufacturers certificate.
