Elevated temperature indentation measurement requires accurate measurement of displacement with reliable dimensional stability as a function of temperature.

Currently, indentation instruments are not traceably calibrated when operating at elevated temperatures.

This poster describes how NPL is establishing the calibration procedures that are required to conduct accurate indentation measurements at elevated temperatures.
