Laser trackers are popular for making precise measurements of objects that are too large for other tools such as Coordinate-Measuring Machines (CMMs).

NPL has set up a service for the testing of laser trackers - devices that are often used to measure the dimensions of very large objects. A comprehensive series of different tests and calibrations are offered to assess, verify and improve their performance in line with specification standards, and beyond them to higher levels of precision.
