Thermodynamic temperature for the equilibrium melting transition for the pure systems under perfect conditions
The melt temperature will be determined by:
• Point-of-inflection, Tinfl , from Set One.
• Equilibrium liquidus, Tliq (0), from Set Two.
Tliq (0) defined from extrapolation to origin of plot of Tliq (x) plotted against x = Tfreeze −Tfurn for different previous freeze rates. This accounts for non-equilibrium freezing (microstructure effect).
