Electrical impedance hygrometer (1)

Relative humidity sensor

Relative humidity sensor (electrical impedance)

  • Hygrometer based on an electronic component that absorbs water vapour according to air humidity, and changes electrical impedance (resistance or capacitance).
  • Instrument is usually in the form of a 'probe' that houses the sensor, attached directly, or by a cable, to an electronics unit to display the relative humidity reading.
