Designer's role
A designer creates a solution to the customer’s problem and provides a technical drawing with clear and relevant specifications for the component to be manufactured and inspected.
To produce a good technical drawing the designer needs knowledge of:
- GPS– international and national standards regarding the conventions and symbols to be used on engineering drawings
- manufacturing process
- measurement process
