Abstract:
This Good Practice Guide aims to provide introductory guidance on unlubricated sliding wear testing. It contains a discussion on the most effective approach to friction and wear testing and considers the different aspects that should be taken into account when designing a programme of friction and wear testing under unlubricated sliding wear conditions.Specific guidance on how test conditions should be set and the procedures that should be used are given in Appendix A, and the results of an interlaboratory exercise that was used to validate the procedure are described in Appendix B.
