Role

Yarshini Kumar: Gas mixture preparation and certification

Yarshini Kumar is a Research Scientist in the Gas Metrology and Trace Analysis group. She is currently working on the preparation and certification of Environmental Gases, including the analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds and Hyperbaric samples using Gas Chromatography. Yarshini also works with the Trace Water Vapour facility, measuring water vapour concentrations using Cavity Ring-down Spectroscopy for high-performance barrier layers.

Biography

Yarshini graduated from the University of Southampton, obtaining a Masters of Chemistry (MChem) in 2011. As part of her degree, she carried out an industrial placement at NPL, doing research on comparative methods in accurately measuring mercury vapour in ambient air.

Yarshini is an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry
