Tatiana Correia
Current Interests

Tatiana Correia is currently a Higher Research Scientist in the Functional Materials at NPL. Her own research interests include the physics and characterization of functional materials, in particular pyroelectric, ferroelectric, relaxors and electrocaloric ceramics and thin films. The focus of her research is the effect of interfaces, polar nano-regions, size and domain wall phenomena on the macroscopic ferroic properties. Tatiana's scientific research reflects long term technological applications in energy harvesting, storage and solid-state refrigeration. She is also experienced in the fabrication of nanostructured materials via the sol-gel method.
Biography
Tatiana Correia graduated in Physics at the University of Porto, later receiving an MSc degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Aveiro University. She obtained her PhD at Cranfield University in 2010, conducting research into the development and characterization of ferroelectric thin films for electrocaloric refrigeration.
