Paulina Rakowska
Current Interests

- Time-of-flight and tandem mass spectrometry in proteomics
- Bio-physical characterisation of proteins and peptides
- Characterisation of peptide-membrane interactions
Biography
Paulina Rakowska completed her MSc in Biotechnological Processes in the chemistry faculty at Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland. In 2006, she joined the National Physical Laboratory where she has been working since.
Paulina has been engaged in solving a variety of bio-measurement related problems, which has required the development of metrology and instrumentation expertise at the interfaces between biology, chemistry and physics. The main focus of Paulina's research lies in the development of nanotechnology-assisted mass spectrometry platforms to enable biomarker analysis and discovery. At present, Paulina is also pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at University College, London. Her work concerns the design and evaluation of novel multifunctional nanoscale probes for the capture and quantitative analysis of specific peptide and protein biomarkers.
