Current Interests

Naresh Kumar
  • Application of tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) to the study of polymer blend thin films, nanoparticles functionalised with bio-molecules and nanoscale lipid gratings.
  • Optimisation and characterisation of TERS probes to improve the tip-enhancement factor.

Biography

Naresh obtained a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) in Engineering Physics. He received his MRes in Physics at the Nanoscale from King's College London where he worked on nanoscale Raman imaging of PS-PMMA polymer-blend thin films by TERS. He is currently working on TERS studies of nanoparticles functionalised with biomolecules in liquid.

Naresh has previously worked at the Center for Nanotechnology (CeNTech) in Münster, Germany in Professor Harald Fuchs' group, where he carried out the Molecular Dynamics (MD) study of the deposition of organic molecules on DPPC templates.
