Michael Adeogun

Michael Adeogun leads the Analytical Science Division at NPL where the scientific research associated with the mole (amount of substance) takes place. There are around 80 scientists in this team delivering underpinning metrology research and scientific R&D for a range of government and commercial stakeholders, in gas metrology, trace analysis, biotechnology, environmental monitoring, surface analysis and nanoscience.

Around 45% of activity funded by commercial sources.

Biography

Michael has a strong technical background and has previously worked as a Development Chemist for both Honeywell Specialty Chemicals and Kobe Steel Europe Ltd, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Reading's Centre for Biomimetics. Michael was awarded a PhD for his work in sol-gel nanocomposites from the University of Surrey and holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from the University of Greenwich.

Michael is an experienced programme manager and technology consultant with expertise in technology and market research, horizon scanning, stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, scenario planning, technology roadmapping, commercial opportunity assessment, and strategic intelligence systems. He has had extensive exposure to the analysis of technology and market trends in nanotechnology, sensors and renewable energy technologies.
