Marivon Corbel: Gas mixture preparation and certification (organic and environmental)

Marivon Corbel is a Higher Research Scientist in the Gas Metrology and Trace Analysis group.

Marivon specialises, in particular, in the preparation and certification of environmental gases to underpin monitoring of atmospheric pollutants. She is responsible for the delivery of specialised measurement services related to hyperbaric samples from the diving industry. She also undertakes research into new methods and standards for the accurate measurement of organic compounds in the atmosphere. Marivon's work also involves collaboration with researchers in universities and other national laboratories collaborating under the WMO GAW Programme.

She coordinates Measurement Services for the sale of ambient gas standards to UK and international customers.

Biography

Marivon achieved a technical degree in Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Nantes (France). She obtained her BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Business Management and her MSc in Analytical Chemistry from Kingston University.

Prior to joining NPL in 2009, Marivon strengthened her background in analytical chemistry while working as a Research Chemist in the brewing industry and as an Analytical Chemist in the flavour and fragrance industry.

Marivon is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
