Leyla Wickström

Current Interests

Leyla Wickström is a scientist whose main research areas involve electrochemical testing and corrosion. Her current work is focused on the effect of surface condition on stress corrosion cracking as well as the development of a new standard for measuring pitting and repassivation potentials.

Biography

Leyla joined the NPL Electrochemistry & Corrosion Group in 2009.

She previously spent one year at Sandvik Hard Materials where she carried out her diploma work on assessing sliding wear of hardmetal against tool steel in a prototype testing equipment. The work was done in collaboration with Stockholm University (Sweden) from which she received her MSc in Materials Chemistry in 2009.
