Graham Topley
Role

Graham has overall responsibility for NPL's measurement services business, which provide several thousand customers world-wide with high level traceable measurements in over 200 distinct technical areas. He manages NPL's Customer Services Team and is reponsible for maintaining and continually improving technical and service quality across the organisation.
Graham works closely with both industry and academia to ensure that NPL is properly supporting and linked in with other high level measurement service providers and measurement end users across the UK. This activity includes ongoing inetractions with the services activities within other world class NMIs.
Biography
Graham Topley received his first degree in Astrophysics from University College London and obtained Chartered Engineer status in the mid-1980s. He initially worked in industrial research and development (electronic components) before joining the MOD where he managed the UK Services measurement standards laboratories prior to their privatisation in QinetiQ. Graham joined NPL in 2007, after several years as a director of ASAP Calibration Services and having played a key role in the development of the first large-scale industrial calibration outsourcing contracts in the UK.
