Director, Infrastructure & Support Services

After graduating from Cambridge University with an MA (Hons) in English Literature, Dennis joined UKAEA at Harwell. Initially a Buyer, Dennis moved into Harwell's fledgling commercial programme, ultimately becoming Senior Commercial Manager of UKAEA's Consultancy Services Division.

With the creation of AEA Technology, Dennis joined AEAT Environment at the Culham Laboratory. Here his achievements included commercial support to the creation of the National Environmental Technology Centre, NETCEN (formed following the merger of AEAT's and the Warren Spring Laboratory's environmental activities) and to AEAT's first operations in China (funded by the Asian Development Bank). Dennis was also a Director of AEAT Landrec Ltd, a joint venture with Aggregate Industries established to exploit novel contaminated land remediation technology.

Dennis joined NPL in 2000, initially to manage the Commercial and Procurement functions, before becoming Head of Support Services where he led and improved the delivery of key services to the laboratory. Manager of a major rationalisation in 2004, Dennis has since taken responsibility for Continuous Improvement activities across NPL. He is a Director of Argento Diagnostics Ltd (NPL's first technology spin-out, developing a medical diagnostic tool) and joined the NPL Executive Team as Director, Infrastructure & Support Services in 2011.
