Delwar Hussain

Delwar Hussain is a Research Scientist in the Gas and Particle Metrology Group in the Environment Division. He has been analysing organic pollutants in air samples, namely Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) using GCMS, for a Defra project since 2011.


Delwar obtained his BSc in Molecular Biology from Queen Mary, University of London, in 2002, and studied for an MSc in Industrial Biotechnology at Liverpool John Moores University. He has worked with Intervet as a Vaccine Production Technician; with P&G analysing Clairol products in a Rheology lab; and for TES Bretby, ESGL, analysing PAH and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in soil samples for London Olympic site as a laboratory technician.

Delwar joined NPL in 2011 and since then he has been working for the PAH project. He has also done some work on measurement of chloride and fluoride using ion chromatography.
