Biography

Andrew joined NPL in 1996, having previously worked for GEC Marconi Radar & Defence Systems. Since that time Andrew has specialised in carrying out thermal conductivity measurements on materials covering a broad range of industry sectors, including insulation and masonry for the construction industry and composites used in Advanced Engineering. This work includes the provision of measurements directly to industry and also the supply of transfer standards and reference materials.

Current Interests

Andrew’s current role is as Measurement Service Provider for a suite of facilities that provide thermal conductivity measurements covering the temperature range -170 °C to 250 °C and for the purpose of both materials research and product certification.
