The shortlisted companies are a mix of Corporate R&D, University and Science Park R&D, and entrepreneurs with privately developed technology. Over the course of the Cleantech Innovate conference all 40 will take to the stage in the lecture theatre at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, to make a series of short presentations.

Robert Hokin, Chief Executive of ecoConnect and Chair of the Cleantech Innovate Selection Committee, said:

"The response from Britain's green innovation community has been phenomenal. The technologies our judges selected are the cream of UK cleantech and a testament to the breadth of vision existing in this dynamic sector today. They deserve all the support that government, investors and business can give them to move forward. The 13th of February is going to be a great day for green industry advancement."

Martyn Sené, NPL's Deputy Director and Director of Operations, said:

"As a member of the Selection Committee, I was looking for the green innovators that demonstrate the greatest potential to deliver impact in the cleantech sector. The 40 finalists have the potential to do just that and now have the opportunity to showcase their innovations to potential investors, the media and other businesses at the conference in February 2013."

Delegates attending the conference will include:

  • Investors seeking new investment opportunities in cleantech
  • Corporate Buyers and Government Agencies seeking green solutions and partnerships
  • Media covering the sector and its trends
  • Dealmakers from Law Firms and Accountancies
