NPL sponsors 2012 IET Measurement in Action Award
The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation, and the NPL sponsored prize is a great opportunity for businesses to demonstrate the positive impact that accurate measurement can have.
Spanning 15 categories in total, the awards are judged by engineering experts and entries will be assessed for:
- the level of innovation shown
- the thoroughness with which ideas have been pursued
- the economic or social benefits involved
- the degree to which the work has pioneered a significant new field or activity.
Past winners for this category include Plessey Semiconductors Ltd and University of Sussex for their Generic Electric Potential Sensor Technology (2011), and University of Manchester and Pipeline Engineering for new acoustic techniques for monitoring gas filled subsea pipelines (2010).
Winners and short-listed entries are widely promoted by the IET and celebrated at an exclusive gala evening taking place at The Brewery, London EC1, on 22 November 2012.
Find out more and submit an entry on the IET Awards website. The closing date for entries is 31 July 2012.
