Greenhouse Gases Emissions Measurement Service
A new promotional video from Astrium Services features Jane Burston, head of the Centre for Carbon Measurement, emphasising the importance of accurate concentration measurements as the best way of improving the inventory method of reporting greenhouse gas emissions, which is a key part of international agreements to reduce emissions.

Astrium, in partnership with the Centre for Carbon Management at the National Physical Laboratory, the National Centre for Earth Observation and the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat de l’Environnement, is launching a unique new service which will allow countries and cities to quantify their emission of carbon dioxide and methane more accurately and track the effectiveness of their control policies.
The Centre for Carbon Measurement will provide the gas standards and calibration for the airborne, ground based and eventually the satellite instrumentation and all of the logistics and data management for the ground based network.
