And the award for best film goes to…

The winners have been announced for the 2012 NPL School Science Film Challenge.

This year, NPL's very own science film 'Oscars' saw over 40 teams participating from primary and secondary schools, and a number of independent entries. The challenge was to make a film, less than two and a half minutes long, describing or demonstrating an aspect of science correctly and in an engaging way.

The awards span 12 categories including Most Entertaining Film and Best Animation in Film, and also cover the core science disciplines of physics, chemistry and biology.

The winners of the three grand prizes are listed below:
