ANAMET – Measurement Comparison No 971
Description
This measurement investigation examined the variation in measurements due to calibrating an ANA with a succession of different calibration loads. The investigation was undertaken during the eighth ANAMET meeting, at NPL, Teddington on the 9th April 1997. The meeting attendees were asked to bring to the meeting good calibration loads, suitable for calibrating an ANA, for use in the investigation.
The investigation consisted of an operator calibrating the ANA a number of times, using the same short-circuit, the same open-circuit, and a different fixed load (supplied by the meeting attendees), for each calibration. Each calibration was followed by a measurement of a single device - a type-N male 1.2 VSWR termination.
The results of the measurements were summarised 'live' at the meeting, including providing summary statistics (average and measure of spread). The entire investigation took approximately an hour to complete.
The results from the investigation have been written up for the ANAMET membership and issued as ANAMET Report 008. For details email anamet@npl.co.uk
