ANAMET – Measurement Comparison No 963
Description
This exercise was conducted during the seventh ANAMET meeting, which took place at Marconi Instruments, Stevenage, on the 20th November 1996. Participants brought their own dial gauges to the meeting during which a session was set aside so that the items could be circulated freely around the meeting table.
Nine representatives at the meeting chose to participate in the exercise which consisted of measuring the connector pin recession depth for the GPC-3.5 items which had been measured previously during the second "round robin" ANAMET comparison exercise (ANAMET Measurement Comparison No 941). These items provided four male and four female GPC-3.5 connectors for the "live" dial gauge comparison.
The results were summarised "live" at the meeting, including providing summary statistics (average and measure of spread). As with the earlier "live" dial gauge comparison (ANAMET Measurement Comparison No 962), the entire exercise took less than an hour to complete (i.e. to do all the measurements, process the results and provide the participants with the statistical summary).
The results from the investigation have been written up for the ANAMET membership and issued as ANAMET Report 007.
