Sharing our knowledge

Organisations that are successful in harnessing the latest scientific or technological breakthroughs and expertise, gain in many ways.

NPL excels in stimulating innovation by sharing its knowledge. The best way you can do this by joining one of NPL's metrology networks, where we share our knowledge, exchange ideas, and mull over common problems. These networks also provide invaluable input to our research work so that we can design projects that will deliver real benefits.

The NPL metrology networks bring together companies, instrument end users, academics and user groups. Many of these are free to join and members benefit from meeting like-minded individuals and receiving information.

NPL also manages networks on behalf of other organisations: we currently run two Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs) on behalf of government.

NPL itself is part of a wider club of other National Metrology Institutes around the world and as such plays an important role representing the UK in other international networks. Find out more about this role in International networks.

From time to time, NPL hosts events which do not fall under a specific network, or which cover various interest groups. Click here to find out more about NPL's ad hoc events.
