This special interest group (SIG) provides a focus for those working in the energy sector encompassing fossil fuels, nuclear and renewable energy technologies - and in organisations where environmental measurements are important, including climate change, air pollution and air quality. The SIG supports organisations in the Environment and Energy sector through tailored events and information.
Themes of the Environment & Energy SIG
- Low carbon technologies including smart infrastructure and performance verification
- Carbon pricing/trading including harmonisation and interoperability of reporting schemes
- Climate data including uncertainty in climate data, top down and bottom up inventory balancing and agricultural impacts (including forestry) on climate change
NPL runs the SIG on behalf of the National Measurement Office. To ensure that the activities are relevant, they are overseen by a Steering Group.
