Measurement Network - Special Interest Groups

For people involved in the biotechnology and healthcare industries that have an interest in detection, characterisation and measurement.

This special interest group brings together those interested in communication technologies and in electromagnetics.

Reflecting a range of interests from a number of sectors, including advanced manufacturing and engineering, transport and energy.

Providing a focus for those working in the energy sector encompassing fossil fuels, nuclear and renewable energy technologies.

Established to provide a focus for those whose work involves any aspect of ionising radiation, including dosimetry, radiation and neutron metrology.

For people with an interest in materials and surface analysis, including nano technologies.

Vision

Support UK businesses to innovate through exploiting the link between measurement science and technological advances

Who we are

Measurement Network is UK’s national network set up to support businesses to solve measurement challenges, increase the spread and adoption of measurement knowledge and address strategic measurement issues.

What we do

The mission of the network is to:

  • Create social and economic impact by exploiting UK’s measurement assets
  • Facilitate business-business and business-research knowledge transfer to solve existing measurement challenges and identify future issues
  • Be the first port of call for measurement related questions, provide a forum for raising measurement issues and act as a reference point to the industry
  • Maximise the spread and adoption of the measurement best practice

This will be achieved through:

  • Connecting businesses to measurement technology expertise  and broker solutions to their measurement challenges
  • Providing access to expertise and knowledge for organisations developing and deploying measurement technologies
  • Supporting small and medium sized companies and UK Research base  in exploiting measurement technologies
  • Building a vibrant community enabling cross-sector engagement to solve major challenges
  • Acting as a network of networks bringing together different sector based networks and international communities
  • Developing strategic insights on the future measurement needs of the industry
  • The Energy and Low Carbon Conference is a collaborative initiative bringing you the best in measurement research and application in the UK.
  • This two-day conference and exhibition will focus on frontier issues in high resolution imaging and 3D nano-analysis for food, agro-chem, healthcare, energy, surface interactions and characterisation of nanoparticles.
