Much of NPL's research involves international collaboration, including:

Secondment activities to and from other NMIs are encouraged.

Secondments can help build collaborations between the UK and overseas organisations. Whether you're looking for project enhancing capabilities or to aid professional development, secondments are an opportunity to gain unique experience and learn from others.

The scheme supports incoming and outgoing international placements between NPL and National Measurement Institutes (and some other research institutions). This includes both scientific and non-scientific personnel, whether experienced or at an early career stage.

Funding is available for travel and subsistence for up to six months. The secondment length can exceed this if it is demonstrably beneficial and funding is secured from another source.
