Monte Carlo Workshop and MCNEG 2007
International Workshop on Monte Carlo codes
A two-day workshop devoted to some of the most popular Monte Carlo radiation transport codes in use was held at NPL on 26-27 March 2007 and attended by over 100 delegates from 20 different countries. The workshop included sessions on the following codes:
EGSnrc , Geant4 , MCNPX, PENELOPE

13th UK Monte Carlo User Group Meeting (MCNEG 2007)
Aimed at users of all radiation transport codes, the MCNEG 2007 meeting provided delegates with the opportunity to present and discuss their applications and recent developments of Monte Carlo in radiotherapy, radiation protection, radioactivity, the nuclear and other industries.

Travel bursary
Hassan Ali Nedaie (Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran) was awarded a travel bursary of £350 kindly provided by the Institute of Physics Computational Physics Group. He presented a poster entitled Dose distribution of electron beams in inhomogeneous phantoms by MCNP calculation and it's verification with experimental measurements at the MCNEG 2007 meeting.
