Radionuclide Calibrator Training Course

The Radionuclide Calibrator Training Course was established in 2012 to provide training to Nuclear medicine staff on the theory and operation of Radionuclide Calibrators.

The secondary standard ionisation chambers at NPL

It is currently delivered as a one day course by experts from across the NHS and industry and is open to anyone interested in improving their knowledge of this essential piece of equipment. It follows closely the guidance provided in GPG93 (Protocol for Establishing and Maintaining the Calibration of Medical Radionuclide Calibrators and their Quality Control).

The course is closely linked with the Radionuclide Calibrator Users' Forum (RCUF) which acts as a focal point for discussion of problems and dissemination of information between users of radionuclide calibrators. It enables participants to pool knowledge and share experience, thereby minimising any duplication of effort when problem solving and implementing best practice.
