2nd TYC Workshop and Tutorial on Energy Materials

Date:
06 June 2012 - 08 June 2012
Description:

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is a member of the Thomas Young Centre (TYC), an interdisciplinary community of London research groups working to address challenges of society and industry through materials modelling and the theory and simulation of materials.

This, the second TYC workshop on energy materials, aims to bring together experimentalists, theorists and computational scientists working on charge transfer with a focus on organic semiconductors, dye-sensitised solar cells, semiconducting oxides and thermo-electrics. The first day features high profile tutorial sessions given by world-leading experts on the theory and simulation of charge transfer in the condensed phase. In the tutorial fundamental concepts that underlie the workshop talks will be introduced and cutting-edge computational methods will be presented. We hope that the tutorial and the workshop foster an active dialogue and collaboration between experiment and theory as well as academia and industry.

Programme:

  • Wednesday 6 June - Registration  |  Tutorial  |  Wine reception
  • Thursday 7 June - Invited and contributed talks  |  Poster session
  • Friday 8 June -  Invited and contributed talks  |  Concluding remarks
