NPL is the UK's national standards laboratory and offers a high quality calibration service for ambient ozone analysers both at NPL and at field sites.

NPL maintains the UK national ozone standard, a NIST photometer, which undergoes regular national and international comparison with primary ozone standards held by other national measurement institutes.

The UK national standard, to which all Defra air quality network measurements are traceable, is used to provide UKAS accredited calibrations in the range 0 to 1 ppm with a ±3.0% relative uncertainty (at the 95% confidence level).

NPL also offers a UKAS accredited calibration service (No 0478 & 0478SI) with a portable transfer standard, providing on-site calibrations with uncertainties of ±4.0%.
