Acid Gas Analysis for Airborne Emissions Monitoring

Acid Gas Analysis for Airborne Emissions Monitoring

NPL offers a rapid service for measurement of a range of anions, as required for emissions measurements of acid gases emitted from power stations, waste incinerators and similar facilities, sampled using wet chemical methods. We have ISO 17025 accreditation for fluoride, chloride, nitrate and sulphate anions contained in aqueous solution.

Samples are analysed for their anion content by ion chromatography (IC). This technique allows different anions in a sample to be separated according to their size and charge, and then detected consecutively by a conductivity cell.

The procedure is compliant with EN 1911-3, EN 14791 and EN 15713 and has a typical detection limit of 0.1 mg/l.

NPL also has MCERTS accredited emissions monitoring teams - click here for further details.
