NPL reviews new gas sensing technologies, for the European Commission

A review report from environmental and remote sensing scientists at NPL on advanced sensors, instrumentation and applications using photonics technologies, has been published on the European Commission website.

The report was commissioned by the Photonics Unit of DG INFSO and it focuses on the application of photonics based technologies in the energy generation industry, transport and for monitoring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Potential new technology developments and their future market potential are analysed in the context of Europe transition to a low carbon economy.

The report formed part of a larger piece of work which carried out a similar analysis for other industry sectors by Optimat, InGAn Research, CIP technologies and TWI.
