An introductory workshop about terahertz and its applications, held at NPL on 17 December 2009. Due to the popularity of this event we are planning to run it again in late 2010, if you would like to register your interest in attending, please e-mail terahertz@npl.co.uk

The day comprised:

• Morning sessions explaining the basics of terahertz techniques and systems.
  
  
• Afternoon sessions, including a presentation from Professor Martyn Chamberlain, Durham University, looking at biological systems with terahertz radiation, followed by Phil Taday, Teraview Ltd, talking on applications of terahertz pulsed technology in industry.

There was also a tour of the NPL terahertz and microwave facilities and the opportunity to have your own artefact investigated with terahertz.
