Steve McQuillan
Born August 6th 1961; first class honours degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering and won several awards during his studies at Glasgow University.
Steve held senior Director posts throughout the UK and Europe and experienced working with high technology organisations, covering electronics, IT, measurement services and instrument manufacture, in North America and Asia.
Many of his roles included turning around businesses and delivering significant sales improvements through operational improvements, business reengineering and developing new products or markets.
He cut his teeth in several roles at Mars Electronics International before joining Marconi Instruments Ltd. Steve joined NPL in 2005 from Oxford Instruments where he had been the Managing Director of their superconductivity business. He was Managing Director of NPL from 2005 until 2008, when he left to become CEO of Avingtrans plc.
