Terahertz Spectrometers

NPL has extensive expertise in Terahertz research and measurement, built up over the past 30 years. We have a fully characterised and calibrated THz time-domain spectrometer and a lamellar interferometer which are available for measurements. We can also supply similar custom-designed instruments.

NPL has worked extensively with academic and industrial partners and other National Measurement Institutes on terahertz research, developing THz metrology techniques and good practice guidelines. We are able to offer a range of consultancy and training services, as well as test and calibration of THz systems, sources and detectors. We have designed and built a THz system and provided training for a leading UK university.

We provide measurement services in THz spectroscopy of a wide variety of materials and objects, and in characterisation of sources and detectors. Our consultancy service can provide assistance with designing experiments, systems and measurement techniques to suit individual customers’ requirements.
