Reference air lines provide the foundation for traceability to SI for all measurements made at RF, microwave and millimetre-wave frequencies.

Air Gauging Systems are needed to characterize these lines and thus establish the required traceability to SI. NPL supplies Air Gauging Systems to customers requiring these capabilities. These systems can be used for all current commercially-available precision lines to 50 GHz. (Related systems can also be supplied for precision lines operating to 110 GHz and in line sizes other than 50 ohms.)
