Environmental issues such as climate change, pollution and air quality have a very high profile with both government and the public. Accurate measurements play a vital role in gauging the scale of anthropogenic and naturally driven effects, pollutant concentrations and the development of strategies to mitigate short- and long-term impacts.
Scientists at NPL have developed both instrumentation and facilities, from their own metrology research, which is available to purchase or hire. NPL undertakes a range of instrument development projects, building on expertise in applying optical and analytical techniques to atmospheric monitoring. Â Areas of application include atmospheric monitoring and industrial emissions monitoring.
We supply both standard and custom built instrumentation to customers who demand the highest accuracy, precision, reliability and traceability for their work. Additionally we can supply training packages, delivered by the scientists who develop and build the instrumentation, structured for the customer’s specific requirements.
