NPL has developed a semi-automated system comprising industry standard hardware and custom PC software for performing traceable calibrations and periodic testing of sound calibrators, including 1 kHz sound calibrators, pistonphones, and multi-frequency calibrators (IEC 60942:2003). The system will calibrate all well-known models of sound calibrator using microphones of type LS1, WS1, LS2, and WS2.
