Sustainable Innovation Forum in Doha
The Sustainable Innovation Forum is set to be the largest business, government and NGO forum alongside COP18, the UN Climate Conference. The forum takes place towards the end of the final week of the conference on 6 December 2012, between 14:00 and 22:00 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
The event is intended to support delegates to reflect on the proceedings so far during COP18 and to forge partnerships between government, private sector and NGOs. It will feature high-level government and private sector panellists via three C-level plenary sessions to discuss how to greater mobilise public-private-partnerships (PPPs), the challenges of sustainable urbanisation with an ever-increasing population, and the latest advances in technology and innovation.
Head of the Centre for Carbon Measurement at NPL, Jane Burston, will be speaking on a panel dedicated to discussing 'Sustainable cities: Examining the future for our urban population'.
The agenda also includes panels on 'The future of energy', and 'Technology and innovation'. Almost 500 delegates are now registered for the Sustainable Innovation Forum, including senior figures from Qatar Airways, BMW Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Qatar Petroleum, plus the governments of Denmark, Qatar, Algeria, Mexico, Ecuador and Japan.
Attendance is free, but you need to register for a place
