Meetings and seminars on underwater noise
NPL has been heavily involved in the organisation of a number of international conferences in the field of underwater acoustics. Recent examples include the Institute of Acoustics conference on 'Ambient noise in north European waters: monitoring, impact and management', held in October 2011, at the National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton.
NPL was also recently involved in the organisation of the 11th European Conference on Underwater Acoustics (ECUA) in Edinburgh in July 2012, a key international forum for the presentation of the latest research and developments in underwater acoustical science and engineering. The conference had over 400 attendees registered and over 360 papers submitted.
